step 1. have or acquire child(ren).
step 2. neglect your yard so that it becomes over-run with weeds. this is usually the natural side-effect of step 1.
step 3. love your child(ren). tell them and show them often.
step 4. wait a few years. continue step 3.
step 5. eventually, the perfect floral arrangement will present itself, usually clutched in dirty, muddy, lovely little hands.

step 6. enjoy. it doesn’t get much better than this.

You are so refreshing, Ana! Thank you for the smile. Your kids are so lucky to have you :)
thank you amanda! so nice to see you here.
too sweet:)
A perfect mother’s day post! I was just telling my sister-in-law (who is due for baby #1 in a few months) that it is okay that she is already neglecting her house plants. It’s inevitable. I’m a little worried about her cats too. :)
Beautiful. Will follow your instructions to the letter. Haven’t got yard but will point my 2-year old in direction of park and country. Hope that will do.
This is short, sweet, loving and exactly I needed to send to my mom 2day. Thanks Ana, and Tara for drawing me here via twitter :)
What lovely flowers your little fists had for you!
I used to always make my mom dandelion bouquets. I should catch her off guard with one the next time I visit home. :)
Happy Mother’s Day, Ana!
I always loved the teeny tiny stems the children arrived with – floating bouquets, we called them!
ohhh
sniff sniff
you got me
Forget-me-not’s remind me of my Mother
perfectly precious post!!! (ppp)
oxoxo
I’m a few years late! But this is perfect! My daughter did this a few weeks ago (she just turned 3 last Sunday). I was digging up weeds in my “garden” (there’s nothing in it yet…) and she came up to me and said (in French), “Flowers for you Mommy”. She had broken off two wilting tulips. Sooooooooooooo precious!
aww, very sweet. and thoughtful of her to pick the wilting ones ;)
