the weekend in a nutshell

it was one of those sunny, not-a-cloud-in-the-sky weekends…

i thrifted this (i have plans for it)…

made progress on this…

attempted to decipher this… (anyone?)

broke this: (woops, that was unintentional but a crafty fix is in the mix)

and made this…(details tomorrow)

also made some time for this…

reading “the BFG” by roald dahl, out loud to the kids. and “a recipe for bees” by gail anderson-dargatz, quietly to myself. the story has drawn me in, and i’m only about a third of the way through the book. the author strikes a balance between sharing delicious little details and holding back just enough of the pertinent ones to keep you reading and wanting more.

i like the artwork on the cover…

and the way the author is peeking out at you on the back…

i’m also excited to say that the plans for this little spot…

turned into this over the weekend…

bliss. i love this time of year.

Is your broken thing a tile? I think I have the exact same thing!!! Those birdies and flowers look very familiar. FWIW, I broke mine and fixed it good as new…

angie, it was a tile. i really should’ve just glued it back together. my “fix” ended up being a total miss. i’ll share that story soon!

Lovely photos! I love your little garden. I’ve been counting the days until Memorial so I can plant (recommended date for my climate). Can’t wait to see an explanation of the thing you made. Whatever it is. A mystery! Side note – when I click on your email link I get a message about not being configured. It may be on my end but I’ve tried several computers now and I keep getting the same message. Thought I’d let you know in case it’s on your end. Enjoy Dahl -he’s one of my favorite authors.

thanks again nancy! about the email, you’re not the first to say so. i’m wondering, did you enter your email into the box then click the button? i think wordpress members just have to click the button, but everyone else has to enter the email and then click. does that make sense? sorry you’re having trouble. i can add you manually if you’d like :-) thanks for letting me know.

I love your photography and your writing. It’s so warm and inviting. I hope that photo of the vase and reeds is one of those air fresheners. I’d love to make my own.
