Seriously? You’re not a professional photographer? I wish I had that bug on my plants.
Very cool! You can always try http://www.whatsthatbug.com
I just swooned over that bug! Those colours! I’d want to keep it and name it Rainbow. I bet it rides a tiny little unicorn when we’re not looking.
Oh, super cute!!! I agree with buttercupcaren-he definitely needs a tiny unicorn!
tara ~ yes, i’m sure. i so wish i got paid for this gig ;)
angela ~ but that’s not as fun as the guesses below (i’ll go hunting there later, thx!)
buttercupcaren and angie ~ ok fine, i’ll search for a unicorn in my tomato plants next time… hope i have my camera on me when i find it!
He’s cute! (or I guess it could be a she…) I think it’s a leafhopper. Google leafhopper images and you’ll see one just like it! (I got pretty good at identifying bugs on our camping trip this summer.)
ooh you’re right i think! leafhopper (cicadellidae)!
Oh that is such a beautiful bug -great picture. By the way I’m looking up a recipe for sage tea now!
Thanks for the idea

Whatever he is, he is quite colorful and your photography skills are fabulous!
I don’t always read other comments when I visit blogs, but I did today and these are so fun … that is a dandy of leaf hopper and I Love learning new things AND I agree with what everyone said … you would make a dynamite unicorn photographer heehee!

What an amazing bug with beautiful colours! Thanks for sharing it…
DS says it’s a scary bug. Hope you find out because I want to know!
wrong. all wrong. it’s clearly the opi manicurisis acrylica. common name: fake nail bug.
leaf hopper! It’s so nice to have other bloggers contribute to solve your garden bug mysteries. Your photos are really stunning.
Stunning! This would make a beautiful postcard or photograph. You should frame it.

It looks like a squash bug. They come in a variety of colors and can destroy your squash crop. You can send the picture to these folks and they will identify it. http://www.whatsthatbug.com Good luck
Soo pretty! Magnificent colours!
