i had an idea for a hallowe’en card. i took some black construction paper, folded it in half and drew an outline of a bat.

i cut the bat out, sketched in some features, and folded the wings in on itself…

i added a message to all of you on the bat’s tummy…

i did this while my youngest napped, and it took only about 20 minutes start to finish…

on the other hand, i spent roughly eleventy days creating the printable template below. if you must know, photoshop and i are still in the awkward getting-to-know-you stage.
and so, i humbly offer you my first pdf template…
if you make something from it, let me know! i’d love to see.

This sparked fond memories of a children’s book I hadn’t thought about in a while…Rufus by Tomi Ungerer. There is surprisingly little about it online, although I did find it on a great blog called Vintage Children’s Books My Kid Loves. http://www.vintagechildrensbooksmykidloves.com/2010/05/rufus.html
Ana – another area of ‘vintage’ to explore!
Ha ha ha ha ha awesome!!! I have never given out Halloween cards before but I think I may start. This is super cute, and the message inside is hilarious!

Such a cute lil bat. I love the idea, my four year old would love a lil bat note left just for him. Thanks!
