it was a good weekend here.
i threw some more stitches onto the neverending blanket… (sigh) do you ever have a project where your enthusiasm for it leaves well before you’re finished, but considerably after you’ve begun? it’s too late to turn back, but you feel like you’re just trudging through to the end? that’s where i am with that one.
we got some more halloween decorations up, including another one of those spider webs i shared on friday. loving those!
we also went to the pumpkin patch (or as the littlest one said “pumpkin pie” — i think he was sorely disappointed there was no pie. yet.). i left my camera at home. nice. no really, that’s not sarcasm. it’s just nice to see things through your eyes sometimes, and not always through a camera lens.
and i just finished up a handful of those batty cards for a little halloween party we’re having soon. again, no photos. like corey (a friend and visitor to this blog) has mentioned, sometimes you’re so busy actually doing things, it’s almost impossible to stop to take photos nevermind upload and share them. well, i often do, but this weekend… it was nice not to.

p.s. i love that there are readers visiting this blog from all over the world. i have learned so much. a most recent example: i will hesitate to use the word “doodle” to describe my, well, doodles. for that story, follow the comments in this post. (the drawing in that post, by the way, was featured by adobe ideas on their facebook page the other day. cool :-))
Good morning Ana! Oh, I do have those projects. Honestly, I usually start something small and more exciting, so that I have more than one thing going at a time. Then I do the less exciting one while watching tv or a movie. That way it’s less tedious for me.
Your weekend sounds like fun! And yes, sometimes it’s nice to just go and do and not worry about photos or keeping track or what have you. :)
i completely agree–i’ve been going through a bit of an anti-camera phase. being behind a camera distances you from the action…which by “action” i mean “your family”. sometimes you want to engage–be a PART of what’s happening. not just DOCUMENT what’s happening…

Yes. In Australia Doodle has two meanings. Very different ones at that. So does the word root.
I really have got to make one of those spider webs. I will need a much larger loop than you used however for the doilie I have in mind.
Funny you should ask; I didn’t put the camera down all weekend. We went to the Four Corners region to meet friends and hang out. Mesa Verde was gorgeous in it’s fall color regrowth (they’ve had a few fires in recent years), and I think you saw the fun we had at the Anasazi Heritage Center on my blog. More to come. :D
do it corey! and it’s so true, there’s a balance in there between what you said and what googiemomma said above. it’s nice to document, because you get to relive the experience through photos, but it’s also nice to just experience too. :)
