friday archive dive ~ gratitude

friday archive dive

i enjoyed reading all your first blog posts for last week’s archive dive.

a few of us felt that our first post was a little embarrassing or that it didn’t really sound like us. that first post can sometimes be the hardest, as can that first page, first step, that beginning of anything really. it reminds me of one of my favourite quotations from one of my favourite authors.

“The fact is that blank pages inspire me with terror.”
Margaret Atwood

what a relief, that an accomplished writer can have those same feelings. sometimes, the best thing to do is just dive in. thanks to so many of you who did just that last week.

this week, with american thanksgiving coming up (we here have so been there, done that already ;-)), i’d love to get a collection of your writings on the topic below. get creative with it, it could mean different things to different people. i might throw my own link into the mix this week. remember to link to your actual post, not just to your blog url.

share. read. enjoy. comment if you like. you can copy the code below if you want to spread the word.

Well, today I’m thankful for the archive dive! Guess why? When I went digging I totally realized that I had forgotten to check that the old posts worked with my new template. Well, let’s just say I found a few scary looking posts with photos on top of frames on top of text. Yikes! Here’s hoping nobody has been digging through my archives in the last few weeks. :) Thanks for the inspiration. Speaking of overlapping…when I tried to submit my link all of the fields overlapped your copyright text and it didn’t work. Here’s my post on gratitude: http://tinyurl.com/264jhxd

thanks for letting me know, i added your link manually. not sure why it did that, but it wouldn’t be an average day without something going wonky online. just when we got the email issue fixed. where is my tech support when you need him? :)

if anyone is ever having trouble adding a link, you can always put it in the comments and i’ll add it myself. but it should be working fine now.

      thanks!

I must admit that I am surprised that I am diving back to 2007 (hard not to want to tweak old posts sometimes)… I have done a fair number of posts on gratitude…so part of your fun friday challenge for me was picking just one post ;)
Happy Friday Dear Ana … I am certainly grateful that we’ve met here in the land of blog…another sweet and special connection!

  5. Apparently I only recently start to be thankful for multiple things in one post on the blog. I got a lot of hits on “thankful” in my archives (none on greatful or gratitude), but mostly it was little things, often at the very end of a post like that DH did the dishes after I made an involved curry for dinner. So I’m afraid I didn’t dive very deep for this week’s link – just last week’s Thankful Thursday post :-o

Okay, it’s my first time diving in. Sorry I’m a little late. I’m excited to read the others posts on gratitude. :-)

I didn’t want to be a ball of cheese, but I had to choose a post about George. I try not to over-blog my baby for a number of reasons, but in the end I think that makes the Georgia posts a little more special. This post is short and simple but I get a little misty every time I read it.

Oops, I was late to this one. I shared a post I really enjoyed writing, ways to save on Thanksgiving expenses by utilizing the Thrift Store. The more I write about thrifting, the more I realize there are infinite ways to spin the topic!

Now to visit all the sites on the list!
