it’s friday! is it just me, or did this week fly by?
no hard rules here, just a fun way to give old blog posts a new life, and meet others along the way… if you have written a post related to this week’s topic below, share the link. (just remember to link to the actual post, not just your blog url.)
have a good weekend!

mine features my auntie En’s parkin – which is the best cake in the whole wide world. you’d like my auntie En, she’s very crafty (in a good way) and last time I had lunch there we had soup in *cough* pyrex *cough* bowls! ;D
oh my! yes, when shall i drop by auntie en’s?
did you see me nodding politely, pretending i knew what a parkin was? well, now i know (thank you wiki!!)
“Parkin or Perkin is a soft cake traditionally made of oatmeal and molasses”
thanks for sharing paula!
I like to share my mom’s caramel icing recipe whenever I can. This recipe was for English learners, but I couldn’t help think of it when I saw the word “dish”. By the time the cake is ready you never want to eat it because you’ve eaten so much icing. Looking forward to some more yummy dishes from your epals!
thanks tara, gotta love simple, trusty family recipes.
I don’t have a favorite recipe on my blog, but I did share an amazing accidental banana bread recipe. If you have going-bad bananas around, don’t toss ’em, use them up in delicious banana bread!
Now I’m off to check out the other recipes shared here!
thanks van. the bananas that have gone bad (i’m imagining “bananas gone wild” in my mind) are sweeter aren’t they? perfect for this sort of recipe. thanks for sharing.
i’m gonna stick with the ‘cake’ theme we have going. i was going to post my grandmom’s matzo tribute blog post…but the one i posted was from waaaaayyyy back at the beginning. when i was just a little baby blogger (haha). almost a year ago.
plus it was super yummy, and now i must make it again.
don’t be surprised if next week’s dive is “lotso matzo” or something ;) i’m pretty sure i need to read this tribute.
aww you were just a wee blogger then!
I really don’t cook, but my husband does, good thing…otherwise we’d live off cereal & caramel! –Have a great weekend–
reminds me of elf, the movie: “we elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.
ahhh… elf. :) thanks for sharing shara.
I am taking great liberties with the phrase “Favorite Dish” for my Archives Dive entry. I couldn’t come up with any posts on recipes or pretty ceramic or porcelain dishes…so my favorite “dish” is 1920’s silent film star Louise Brooks. A bit of a stretch, huh? – but I love the idea of the Archives Dive and was determined to post something this week!
thank you, i’m glad you took that bit of liberty! louise brooks, what an icon from that era gone by… you can dish on your favourite dish here anytime. great little tribute.
oh my another brilliant prompt Ana!
I was going all over the place until I settled on a delicious beet salade recipe served on some fav Buffalo China oval plates :)
dish on dish heehee
Thank you for another really fun dive!

My post may be a bit of a stretch, but it’s mostly a reminder to the universe that I’m still looking for the perfect butter dish.
