it is a lot of work. it isn’t the glamourous part of gardening. the good stuff comes later. but this is where it begins.

I absolutely LOVE that quote, Ana! There is something so satisfying about digging in the dirt- nice, dark, rich soil- I wouldn’t mind smelling of that at all. :) Now to dig up a post… :)

Hunh. Gardening is just not in me – I’m afraid my thumb is all kinds of black and blue and doesn’t encourage green living things (but I keep my kids alive and thriving, so I think I’m okay!). I do love to look at pretty gardens, though! Great topic!
my front garden has a beautiful burst of colour in the springtime, but only because a previous owner planted some perennial bulbs. the back garden is very much a play space, overrun with clover (which the bunnies love) and where i grow my herbs and veggies. i’m very much a beginner sarah! and yes, i think you do just fine :) thanks for visiting.

Man, it was so hard to choose! I was little obsessed with the garden back in 2007. Our first serious (and, oddly most successful) growing season. My photography was beginning to bloom back then as well. Thanks for the inspiration to dig back and be reminded of how fulfilling growing our own food was. I’m even more motivated to do more prep work in the garden this weekend now!
i’ve grown herbs before but last year was the first that i planted a veggie garden. i completely share your feelings about it being fulfilling to grown your own food (as my numerous “look what i grew!” posts came rolling in last year :P).
Oooh, grand idea! I’m a terrible gardener, but lucky enough to live in a place where everything grows on its own . . . my post is about a magical night-blooming flower which left us breathless with its glory.

Ah, I can’t wait to really dig in and do some gardening. I’ve been working on my herbs, strawberries, and the whimsical potted creations for my antique store booth lately.

Garden is a splendid theme…I used to be an avid gardener..it was my therapy…now I’ve turned more to mixed media and paper and such which keeps me pretty busy (and blogging too {read in a whisper})…I still Love playing in the dirt altho my back tells me when I’ve had enough…picking one garden post was a BIG challenge ;) as I adore visiting gardens everywhere we go too…in the end my post will take you to our garden this time of year two years ago.
