friday archive dive!

fall colours

for just a few weeks in autumn, before a cold wind blows the leaves to the ground, the trees change. it happens every year of course, but each time they burst with colours so vibrant, i can’t help but think they look unreal. if an artist used those colours of paint to depict a fall scene on canvas, i’d think she was exaggerating.

fall trees unreal

but somehow, mother nature gets away with it every year.

it’s a very dark, rainy day here today. i’d love to read some posts on this week’s topic. have a wonderful weekend, all!

thanks abby. it reminds me of architecture, of grand churches and buildings that are designed to make us feel small and in awe. i think i know where the inspiration came from :)

Gorgeous photos! I can’t wait to see some more from your readers. You inspired me to share this picture and sad story with my English learners:

Wanna know something (maybe only I find) interesting? The leaves don’t really blow off. The tree releases them. I find that idea so beautiful and empowering. The tree chooses to let them go when it’s ready. Inspiring.

    Gorgeous fall color, Ana.

that’s true (and i find it interesting too). i like how in patty’s post, she wrote about how you can hear the leaves fall, and how they fall when the air is absolutely still. thanks for that corey, it is a beautiful thought.

  6. Beautiful fall colors. Well, it is 75 degrees here today, with evening in the mid-40s, a beautiful Indian summer day :) Hmmm… the evergreens don’t do the dramatic changes, but our maples and a few others do.
