where there are pumpkins, there are pumpkin seeds to roast…
and pumpkin purée to make…

i’ve written before about how i make my pumpkin (squash) purée. there’s plenty leftover which i’ll keep in the fridge ’til i know what to make.

i was thinking of making my pumpkin spice loaf today, but i think i might try a soup instead. it’s a chilly november morning.

you are on the ball!
We were terrible parents this year in the jack-o-lantern department. DH took them to get pumpkins on Sunday, and then we ran out of time to carve yesterday (also – it’s totally not my favourite thing to do, so I may have procrastinated until there wasn’t time. *guilty*) Not sure what to do with them now – seems wrong to carve them after the fact, and no one here likes pumpkin pie etc.
oh please, such terrible parents! chuck them into a compost pile (the pumpkins, that is), or plant the seeds in the garden, or i dunno… have a smashing pumpkins party. i hear that line in my head from that episode of the simpsons when homer met the smashing pumpkins… “billy corgan, smashing pumpkins.” “homer simpson, smiling politely.” lol hope you had a good halloween!
Soup sounds yummy, yes, make soup :)
Mmm!
We had way too many pumpkin seeds last year, so Brian made sure not to go overboard :) We have a nice sized container of them now!
I still have my scooped out, gooey seeds in the fridge waiting to be roasted! Your pumpkin puree looks so yummy! The only sugar pumpkin that made it through Halloween uncarved was the one my four year old painted with acrylics…I’m hoping I can wash it with veggie wash so its not too toxic to cook!
