i finished the bella mittens, but not quite in time for the birthday girl.
there was one problem. since i was sizing the pattern down from adult mitts, the first mitt i knit actually turned out a little bit too snug. i should have measured better. when i knit the second one, i added a pattern repeat and it fits perfectly. so i’ll be going back and fixing the first one to match.

stop laughing. it should be ready by next winter. by which time she’ll have outgrown these altogether.

Oh, but these are so cute like that! I need some Monday morning mittens like this! It’s so great that you share this kind of thing on your blog. Not exactly a #fail but at least it reminds us that you have some human qualities in those supergiftedcraftydiva hands of yours.
all my “human qualities” seem to come out while i’m knitting :P thanks tara.
Besides the little glitch, the mittens came out beautifully! I love that pattern! And I’m sure you’ll be able to get the other one done lickety-split (my, that’s fun to say!). :)
i’m going to unravel the smaller mitten back to where i can add another pattern repeat. hopefully that’ll work and i wont have to reknit the whole thing.
oh but they look so soft and warm. I’m sure you know someone with smaller paws who would love a pair of mittens!
thanks abby! i’m determined to fix it soon.
those look luxurious! :) what a nice present:)
I have these on a wish list for myself that I will get to at some point. ;)
Love the pattern look. Hope going back and adding repeat works.
Ohhh, they look so elegant and ladylike!

Lizzie wants a pair! Perhaps it will be too challenging for me to make them her size :)
the pair i made were for j, i went down in needle size and it turned out just right for her! it wasn’t too tricky, try it.
