weekend in a nutshell: moving on

words on rocks

this weekend, our next door neighbours moved away. our kids grew up with theirs, and we’ll miss the random knocks on the door asking to play, the impromptu get-togethers…invitations over the fence, drinks on the deck while the kids play, bbqs, things like that.

we put a small gift box together: a bird house, some pretty summer napkins, lavender and rosemary (for remembrance) from the garden, and i drew some words on rocks to wish them well on their way.

It’s heartbreaking when good neighbours move away. :( I was just thinking about how lucky we are that our kids have close neighbours to grow up with. Your neighbours truly do help shape your childhood. It’s often what you think back to when you remember the good ol days. I hope the new neighbours are lovely too.

I’m sorry to hear that you are losing your neighbors! What beautiful rocks you’ve made. I’m sure they loved their gift, and that it will be a sweet reminder of your family. I hope you get great new neighbors. :)
