my dill plant has disappeared. withered away into almost nothing. i don’t know what happened. it was green and filled with feathery leaves just last week. at least we were able to have some before its demise. it was dillicious (i’ll stop that now).

seriously, what’s the deal? it was my first time growing dill… i know it needs well drained soil and lots of sun to grow. all the other herbs are thriving. we had a stretch of days with heavy rain, i wonder if it was just too much. any ideas?

You crack me up. My basil died too. :( Not the one that wasn’t really basil that looked like basil (thanks for the tip by the way). I planted a new basil plant two weeks ago. I got one spaghetti dinner out of it. I blame the Hot Wheels invasion.
too bad about your basil. hot wheels invasion will do that! things they never tell you about in better homes and gardens ;)
So sad when parts of your garden die. I haven’t tried dill yet, but would love to pick some up. Maybe a few plants, just to be sure I get a little. ;) Try again, Ana!
let me know how it grows for you. and i will try again.
oh no :( that herb is so dilllightful. (I couldn’t resist) I’ve only ever had mine chomped away by caterpillars. Maybe try again?
:P
the leaves just turned yellow and died. i’ll try again next year.
Mayhaps something ate the roots.
Oh, I have an idea alright! I suspect the squirrels! Last year I had dill on one side of the pot and cilantro on the other. One morning I woke up and the dill was gone…and nothing but little paw prints remained. The cilantro remained untouched. Squirrels…I love them to bits, but they sure are DILL-igent when it comes to causing trouble :)
No kidding? Huh! Squirrels and I have that in common; I do not like cilantro either.
those mangy squirrels! if i didn’t like them so much!
if i could grow all my herbs in one spot, that would be ideal. i-DILL ? corey, maybe i should plant the dill and surround it with cilantro as a barrier ;)
I was totally gona say that, Ana! Like a pioneer wagon circle, umm…but different. :]
