i finished knitting mr.madeItSo’s world war one scarf a couple of weeks ago (i’ll write more on that later)… but as i was knitting it, my littlest kept asking me for his very own. he wanted it “gween. and squishy. with those stwingy things on the end.”

a simple garter stitch scarf (knit every row, slipping the first stitch as if to purl), made from a soft, baby alpaca blend. i threw in some contrasting grey yarn for a stripe…and those stwingy things on the end.

he waited anxiously while i knit it. he would remind me before leaving for school, “work on my scarf ok?”
once he saw it all finished, he loved it. wore it once. and threw it aside declaring it “too itchy!”
the world would be a different place if we could all get away with the straight-forward honesty of an almost five year old, wouldn’t it?

Sigh…ain’t it the truth.
